About Saber Feed
Why I built Saber Feed
Houston has the talent, manufacturing strength, and energy resources to help shape the smart cities of the future. But finding the opportunities that connect those strengths isn't always easy. Jobs, events, programs, and news are scattered across dozens of sites.
I built Saber Feed to bring that information together in one place, free and accessible to everyone.
Students and folks who are looking for jobs, knowledge, and opportunities are who I have in mind first. As an IT dean and someone who loves all things tech, I want to make it easier to discover career opportunities, connect with the community, and see where technology is headed. The feed reflects those interests, with a focus on AI, IT, cybersecurity, cloud computing, advanced manufacturing, and robotics.
Saber Feed isn't here to reinvent the wheel. It helps you find what's already out there and points you to the original source every time.
It's also built to be open. If you run a job board, host a meetup, or lead a program, you're welcome to connect your feed or send something our way. The goal is simple: to make Houston's opportunities easier to find and help more people take part in what comes next.
Where the data comes from
Saber Feed brings together publicly available information and personally curated updates:
- Jobs come from employers' public job boards, along with select listings I add by hand.
- Events come from Meetup groups and Houston City College's public events page, with more Houston calendars, including The Ion, coming soon.
- News comes from Houston-area news sources.
- Organizations highlight Houston groups worth knowing, with links to their websites.
- Additional updates are curated weekly from LinkedIn posts.
If something is wrong or missing, please let us know. You're also welcome to contribute listings, suggest sources, and help make Saber Feed more useful for everyone.
Share an opportunity or suggest a fix
Use the Suggest an update or share an opportunity form, or email scorp@mail.grokbot.com. I review every submission before anything goes on the site.
Teach with us
I'm the Dean of the Digital and Information Technology Center of Excellence at Houston City College, and we're always looking for great instructors in AI, IT, cyber, cloud and related fields. I look for at least 3 years of industry experience and at least an associate degree (AAS). Depending on the subject, a bachelor's or master's may be required.
